2D PENNSYLVANIA RESERVE

VOLUNTEER CORPS.

The 2D PRVC is a non-profit organization located in Reading, Pennsylvania. Our members strive for historical accuracy and period correctness in our presentations and impressions of the mid 1800's and specific to the era of the American Civil War. (1861 - 1865)

The men, women and children of the 2D PRVC are dedicated to the hobby of reenacting. Many members believe that the hobby emparts the values of family and community. Many members have been in reenacting for 20 years or so, raising their families and continuing to learn history, perfecting their impressions, building long term friendships and supporting events. Our purpose is to present to the public examples and live demonstrations designed to educate, record historical events and to preserve history about the military and civilian way of life of the American Civil War.

Although the 2D PRVC is primarily a UNION reenacting regiment, some members also reenact as CONFEDERATE with the 40th Virginia Infantry and the 40th Civilian Auxiliary. A fun time is had by all!

The 2D PRVC is excited to participate with the PENNSYLVANIA RESERVES DIVISION in an effort to further promote the contributions made by Pennsylvanians during the period of America's Civil War. The 2D PRVC is also a proud member of the MIFFLIN GUARD, a premier reenacting organization of INFANTRY, ARTILLARY and CAVALRY REGIMENTS of the Mid-Atlantic States of Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland.

General membership is open to any interested party that has an interest but no experience, anyone who has an appropriate military or civilian portrayal or anyone in an appropriate support organization (such as active military, medical, historian, photographer). We are particularly interested in hearing from ancesters of actual members who had served with the regiment. Contact any of the following for assistance and/or information.

Members of Company A meet the first Sunday of the month at 2:00PM, October through March, at the MEADOW BROOK COUNTRY CLUB, RD #9, Leesport, Pennsylvania. Voting members are required to attend a minimum number of events and meetings and members pay dues, of which a portion includes liability insurance required to take to the field.
